Living in Melbourne

Take the Sky Bus ($18 one-way, ticket booth at station, leaves every 10 minutes) from Tullamarine airport. It leaves just outside the main terminal building and takes about 20 minutes to the CBD. Then take any tram to Melbourne University. Taxis are usually about $50 from the airport to the city centre.

Public Transport

Melbourne’s buses, trams and trains use a smart-card ticketing system called MYKI. You need to buy a MYKI card from a train station or convenience store before you take any public transport. MTA’s nearest tram stop is outside Melbourne university and the nearest train station is Melbourne Central or Flinders Street.

MTA is located in the inner city of Melbourne, in education precinct and right near Melbourne University in the suburb of Carlton. This beautiful area is good for public transport, cheap food, art, culture, architecture and pretty public gardens. It’s a vibrant social hub in the world’s most liveable city.
